how to connect printer to phone

 

It may seem complicated, but it's not. You can turn your printer into a wireless device with a Raspberry Pi, an inexpensive wifi dongle and some open-source software. It may sound like rocket science, but it's actually rather straightforward.

A lot has been said about the Raspberry Pi for computer fans and educators, but now it's possible to use a Pi to turn any printer into a wireless printer. It doesn't matter if it's one of those old dot matrix printers in the basement or a brand new laser printer. You can also use inexpensive wifi dongles that you can find on Amazon, among other places.

The idea here is that you connect one Raspberry Pi (or even more) with your wireless router, which will then broadcast your wireless network name (SSID) so your old printers can be used wirelessly with all the computers and devices around the house, like your laptop or smartphone.

You can download the software and source code to turn your printer into a wireless printer on Raspberry Pi's Github page. You could even save it on your desktop so you can access it anywhere, like when you are away from home.

I think the Raspberry Pi is one of the best computer out there for its cheap price, but I just can't find one of those wifi dongles, so I have to use my old printer to print wirelessly. Simple as that.
